This is how Potterheads remember the Battle of Hogwarts.
Wanna see what my kids are wearing today? And yes, they will be wearing these outfits out and about.
Here we have little Luna Lovegood (complete with funky colors, spectra specs, Ravenclaw tie, and her infamous lion hat), Hermione, and Ron (who is wearing a Harry Potter kippah. ). The kids were so annoyed when I wouldn’t let them bust out the Halloween box to find face paint with which to give him freckles.
Adding one more shot of Luna stupefying (which sounds a lot like “Supah fly,” when a 3-year-old says it) me. No real reason to share an extra photo of her. I’m doing it just because she’s so freaking cute.
FWIW: Luna just stripped off her glasses and hat and announced, “I not Luna anymore. I Amy Pond now.”
ETA: I may regret this, but I’m adding a shot of me too. You’ll notice Luna/Amy has ditched the hat, glasses, and tie.
Please forgive the spot on my pants. They’re not bleached. My daughter got a finger print on the lens.
Oh man! I’m reblogging because I submitted the first and second photos to Mugglenet for their International Harry Potter Day photo contest and none of my kids made the cut. Come on, they’re cute as hell.
There are 4 or 5 other Lunas that were picked for the finals and I realize I may be biased, but I think my 3-year-old is cuter than all of them.
FWIW, I voted for Voldemort. Come on, Voldy and a My Little Pony DVD? That was brilliant (and hysterical).

Rupert, about his bed in the Gryffindor dormitory set
With that little bit of information, the next step is inevitable. Let’s take bets on how long it’ll take before one of us finds a way to steal the sheets (and create an army of Rupert clones, each armed with their own engraved trombones and driving ice cream trucks). I give it 2 months tops.
What say you?

This is what happens when Potterheads reproduce. Here are 3 members of my goat rodeo. My poor older daughters really wanted me to film them singing this song. Their baby sister, apparently, really wanted me to film her. Period.
graphic submitted.
I started reading the books in 2000. I was 21. I’m a huge fan regardless. True, my experience is different than many of you who grew up with the trio, but it’s awesome none-the-less.
Magic is magic no matter when you discover it.
My advice is to raise your kids to be Potterheads. When the husband’s eyes start to roll at a Harry mention, I know I can always turn to the 9-year-olds.
Don’t TL,DR this. It’s not that long, I promise.
Hey, Potterheads, help me out. I know I’ve asked this before, but I have some new followers, so I figured I’d try again. I really need help and soon. We’re planning to make this trip the end of February.
Shortest version of the story I can manage, we’ve never had a family vacation. My husband was active duty Air Force and his training and deployment schedules made it impossible to plan vacations. After he separated from the military, he took a big pay cut (and a huge cut in benefits) and then the economy tanked right before we had our last baby. So then we couldn’t afford a vacation. In 2010, he took a job 2000 miles away and had to move while we stayed behind to sell the house. We were apart for another 8 months.
We’ve been together as a family for an uninterrupted 7 months now and we have enough saved up to surprise the kids with a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter when our twins turn 9 and 3/4 (which also coincides with my birthday).
We REALLY need this vacation. We desperately want to surprise our girls like this. I need your suggestions for how to make this as special as possible for them. Please please please help me find the best way to reveal our plans.
Go here, read more about it and pretty pretty please with sugared violets on top give me some suggestions.
ETA after notes: I’d love to have Hogwarts’ acceptance type letters waiting in the van. 2 problems though. We’re American, so they can’t go to Hogwarts and they’re not 11 yet. So I’m thinking of creating some sort of letter inviting them to American campus for a visit. And yes, my girls would completely point these problems out (as would I, so I’m not complaining).
